in 2015, the Global Health Security Agenda was launched in Cameroon in the presence of the Prime Minister, USAID and P&R representatives. The National Zoonotic program (NZP) was identified as main contact and entry point for P&R project. P&R team met with directors from different sectors who are members of the technical committee of the zoonotic program, or the permanent secretariat of the zoonotic program. Consultative meetings were also held with PREDICT-2, CDC, FAO country office, and WHO Country office.
The NZP 2015 and 2016-2018 action plans were used to discuss and identify areas of potential support aligned with P&R’s objectives. Those include OH leadership training and coaching, development of One Health Advocacy and Communication plan targeting decision and policy makers, joint Private Sector/Extractive Industry Activities and NOHP planning, preparedness and response planning for public events of unknown etiology. These priority areas were used to develop the year two country work plan and country implementation plan.
The P&R team is also working with AFENET to finalize registration/authorization and the recruitment of a NOHTA in Cameroon.
