Private Sector Audit Tool

The Audit Tool is designed to help private sector operating facilities assess where they have vulnerabilities to emerging infectious diseases. It begins with a brief description of the dynamics of infectious disease emergence and their potential linkages to, and impacts on, extractive industries. Following are checklists that can be used to identify possible areas of vulnerability, and control measures that facilities could use if none are in place.

Private Sector Brief

While environmental, animal and human health sectors all do their parts in the efforts to prevent, detect and respond to epidemics and outbreaks, the private sector must also consider the impacts of a large-scale outbreak. Also available in French.

Disease Prioritization Brief

Zoonotic diseases account for more than half of communicable diseases in humans and about 60% percent of emerging threats. This brief sheds light on the severity of zoonotic diseases and the need for intensifying all actions that support disease prevention. Also available in French.

Preparedness & Response Brief

The emergence of major disease outbreaks over the last few decades has increased support to build national and global capacities to meet the requirements of the International Health Regulations (IHR-2005) and to advance the Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA). Through its NOHP assessment, and other global processes, P&R works to answer questions about country core capacities to meet the requirements of the International Health Regulations (IHR-2005) and to implement multisectoral One Health actions. Also available in French.

One Health in Action Case Studies

Over the course of the past six years, the USAID Emerging Pandemic Threats program has advanced One Health operations in 30+ developing countries. This booklet provides case studies from partner countries, published by P&R “sister” project PREDICT, with P&R contributions, to demonstrate the type of approaches, partnerships and benefits that One Health can yield. Also available in French.
